New varistor gives Type 1 Surge Protection Devices 200,000A fault-current capability without external protector
The Littelfuse FBMOV Series offers complete overvoltage circuit protection in a single, compact configuration that helps customers simplify their designs and reduce cost. The Littelfuse Varistor Surge Protection fuse combined with a varistor offer Non Fragmenting protection when subjected to high fault current (up to 200kA). The integrated thermally activated element opens quickly in the event of overheating during abnormal overvoltage, limited current and intermediate current condition. The element offers quick response because of its close proximity to the MOV body.
